ABOUT

Born in Mene Grande, Venezuela, she graduated as an architect from

Universidad Simón Bolívar, Caracas in 1979. She established her firm 

Maritza Domínguez Nelson Architects in 1989. After a long career designing, developing and constructing projects as an architect, she began her work as a sculptor. Through a natural evolution as a designer interested in bold forms, materials, proportions and light, she began working with iron as her material

of choice. She took courses in France in metal working and welding,

currently has her workshop in Benissa, Spain, and is an artist at the

Atelier Paul Flury in Montreuil, France.
